Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai Sonata breaks up the monotony of the mid-size with bold-not-boring styling and a new fuel-efficient engine. Every Sonata comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), standard. The Sonata is equipped with a Gasoline Direct Injection engine which has been specially engineered to squeeze the most horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency out of every gallon. The Sonata’s trunk has a recessed hinge, so you don’t lose any cargo space to trunk mechanics and hardware. It also means you can pack your things without fear of crushing them.

The Hyundai Sonata's engine features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, which proves that engines don’t have to be massive in order to pack a punch — with up to 200 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, to be exact. But, seeing as we live in a world of skyrocketing fuel costs, Hyundai engineers had enough forethought to make sure the Sonata’s fuel efficiency gets up to 35 MPG. Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) optimizes the Sonata’s air intake and boosts torque — and it can take much of the credit for the engines’ improved fuel economy and improved off-the-line acceleration and passing performance.
